When the seeds of this track where planted in late 2019, it's working title was 'No Underground' which appears as a lyric in the song.
The title 'No Underground' arose out of a conversation we had about how the heart of punk/metal and hard alternative music beats in the subculture; the grubby, clandestine fringes and dirty clubs and backwater rehearsal rooms where the outliers and the underdogs go, places where you fit in, when you feel like you don't 'fit in'.
Leading us to ask is there such a thing as a subculture anymore? This scene was never about 'fitting in' or conforming. Where do you go now? where do you express your unwillingness to conform? Do you want to 'Log out' of this social fire and make a pariah of yourself? if so...who would have you?..where are your people?..where is the underground? where would you go?
There is pride to be had in not fitting in, you know who you are.
Culture is a demagogue.
